The maize mill and agricultural inputs were officially handed over on
15th Feb. 2008 at a well attended function.
Following are the highlights:
1- The guest of honour was Rtn. Israel Mayengo, Minister in the
Katikkiro,s office, representing the Katikkiro ( Buganda,s Prime
Minister). We walked with him through the village ,looking at some
project piggeries and homesteads. He and the visiting Rotarians were so
impressed by the impact of the project that in his speech he appealed to
other Rotary clubs to replicate the same in other areas.

2-Attendance: 30 Rotarians of RC Muyenga ,RC Kalisizo and RC
Kyotera,Local Council leaders, members of the RCC, over 80 peaple
participating in the maize growing part of the project, staff and
children of the school and 5 volunteers from Spain, Canada(Ontario) and
U.S.A..

3-Display and sale of food, fruits and crafts produced and made by
members of the RCC.
In a different mail I have sent you some of the photographs taken at the
function.N0.6 shows a Rotarian from Belgium wha had been sent by RI to
examine our proposed 3H project we want to carry out in Mpigi , admiring
a big bunch of bananas which is a result of pig manure. No. 10 shows
some of the peaple participating in maize growing.N0.8 shows the RCC
women and N0.10 their products on display. The rest are self explanatory.

We have a model project down here as far as rural development is
concerned which, after harvesting the maize, will be worth an article in
The Rotarian  magazine.

May I ,on behalf of the President and all the members of RC Muyenga
thank your President , you personally, Rtn Jim and all our fellow
Rotarians of our sister Club of Halifax for "Sharing Rotary" with us,
St. Paul Kaaso and surrounding community. We are always like Oliver Twist
wanting more and should another opportunity of "Sharing Rotary" arise,
please do not hesitate to contact me.
May I end by renewing  my invitation to some of your members to visit
our country, our Club  and St.Paul Kaaso and surrounding community to
see first hand the fruits of your generosity. On my part I promise to
keep you abreast of the developments related to the project.
Kindest regards.
