| DISTRICT CONFERENCES
An Annual Conference is held in each Rotary District. Delegations from clubs are usually led by the Presidents and Secretaries-Elect.
With the growth of Rotary, by 1958 our District grew to 53 clubs extending from St. John's, Newfoundland to Machias, Maine and Campbellton, New Brunswick.
In those days, Conferences were very well attended and International in atmosphere. However, such a widespread District was unwieldy to administer. In 1958 it was split and as of 1976 comprised 27 clubs in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
However, by 2003, the addition of new clubs increased the number to 46, including two clubs in Labrador and a club in St. Pierre & Miquelon (thereby making our District international again). |
